Avalla S-50 4-in-1 quiet air conditioner & 7L dehumidifier combo - for medium rooms

A nice low operating noise, more of a gentle hum. Will definitely help during hot summer days when I have been working night shifts (will keep the room cool and provide some white noise to minimise distractions).

Dehumidifier mode is effective and helped dry laundry on the airer. The tank is on the small side (0.4L), but that comes with the unit being small and portable.

Window kit is sturdy, I have sash windows so this is perfect (you'll need the additional kit for hinged opening windows).

Overall, I'm very please and will get a lot of use out of this.

Air conditioner is a good size for the room bought for, not too bulky or heavy, can easily be put away when not in use.
Good value for money and cools down the room efficiently.
Took a little while to work out how to use the window kit so instructions for this would have been helpful.

This is the 1st time I have purchased an air conditioning unit. I made my choice based on the customer reviews. I wouldn't say it was 'very quiet' but no more noisy than a fan.
I have a hinge window so I basically have to wedge the pipe out the window. This isn't a massive issue. Just looks a bit unsightly. To cool down an average sized bedroom it will take around 2 hours. I haven't used the dehumidifier yet so can't comment. The unit itself is nice and small. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I bought this S50 unit some months ago to replace one of three that my daughter took over. It has only now, with the arrival of the hotter weather, been put to use. first opinion is very favourable. With the ambient indoor temperature at 23C, I reset the cutoff to 15 C to ensure it kept running. The output measured 16C at 30cm from grill and the jet speed was 13 MPH (or so my Skywatch tells me). The machine is not silent but I was too idle to set up a sound meter. I could sleep by it [ but then I have been known to sleep (uneasily) on the night train to Inverness!]. This unit obviously is not powerul enough to chill a whole house, though at the moment it is on the top landing of a three storey house and is producing a noticable effect through open doors.
Condensate in air-con mode goes away with the hot air output. Used as a dehumidfier [ not tried ] the condensate would collect in an internal tray and that has to be drained through a plug right at the bottom of the machine. Effectively, this means that the machine would have to be stood on a stool. It is only 15 KG, so I could lift it. My biggest machine is 30 KG and needs 'muscles' to lift - conveniently that can be drained through a cat-flap.
Note that the outlet air hose is 5 inches dia - most replacement outlets are 4 inches, though larger dia are readily available.

I did buy a nice-looking water/ice 'air cooler' previously, but that ended in a charity shop after one trial. Probably good for someone sitting directly in front, but seemingly not for room cooling.

This is my second Avalla product , and I love it , well made and easy to use , really thinking of air conditioner/ dehumidifier next 😊

A great air con unit, easy to set up with a useful window slot board, very portable ( we may end up moving it around a little). Looking forward to using its dehumidifier later this year.
